About this font
While Adelle is a slab serif typeface conceived specifically for intensive editorial use, mainly in newspapers and magazines, its personality and flexibility make it a real multiple-purpose typeface. The unobtrusive appearance, excellent texture and slightly dark color allow it to behave flawlessly in continuous text setting, even in the most demanding editorial applications. Its energetic character, so inherent to slab serif fonts, becomes evident as the typeface is used for subheadings and headlines.
Veronika Burian and José Scaglione met at the University of Reading whilst completing their MAs in Type Design, launching the independent type foundry TypeTogether in 2006.
About this font
Mitja Miklavčič drew FF Tisa to meet the technological and aesthetic requirements of modern magazine use. His goal was to develop a softer, more dynamic version of a nineteenth-century slab serif wood type. A large x-height and pronounced serifs make FF Tisa extremely legible in text sizes and its unique design details and a fairly upright italic become evident in display applications. The typeface was selected by the TDC judges for a Certificate of Excellence in Type Design in 2007.
