About
Description

Victoria Rushton started Marcia, her first typeface, with the attitude of a letterer. Its high-contrast roman echoes the Modern styles of the 19th century, while the sturdy italic provides a base for its decorative variations. Both roman and italic, with their unusual ornamental ligatures, are filled with a spirit of lettering, but Marcia remains wholly typographic, ready for use in titling, food packaging, and children’s books; FB 2015

For additional license options like app and enterprise, visit Marcia on Type Network.

Type Designer

Victoria Rushton

Victoria was trained as a type designer at Font Bureau, where she spends her days lovingly kerning, plotting and snacking. She went to RISD and studied illustration because she loved to draw, but turns out the main thing she wanted to draw was letters, and that’s how she finds herself here, writing this little blurb, and she’s really glad you’re here too.
