Amélie Bonet

Amélie Bonet is a type designer and font engineer based in Berlin. She specialises in multiscript typefaces, placing particular focus on complex scripts such as Devanagari, Arabic, Oriya and Bengali. She has led type projects for international clients, working both for agencies as well as in-house at Dalton Maag and Monotype. She holds a Master’s degree in Type Design from the University of Reading and in Création Typographique from l’École Estienne. She also obtained a Post-Diploma in Édition-Presse from l’École des Arts Décoratifs. Since 2019, she has worked independently as a freelance type designer, consultant and font engineer, collaborating with designers and type foundries such as Google, Lineto, Pangram Pangram, The Northern Block and Swiss Typefaces. She is in touch with art schools and design studios, where she acts as part of a jury member or as a workshop instructor. She is also part of the Alphabettes and Type Crit Crew networks. Her work in type design and font production has been recognised with awards at the Granshan and European Design competitions.
