Carl Crossgrove

San Francisco designer Carl Crossgrove became fascinated by calligraphy and type at an early age and taught himself all he could about both. He studied printmaking and painting and then worked as a signmaker and graphic designer. He attended the Rochester Institute of Technology to study graphic arts and printing, concentrating on typography. Carl designed the Reliq® family for the Adobe® Originals program, Minska™ for ITC, and Origami™ for Monotype. Since 2001 he has been a type designer with Monotype in their California office. His other typefaces include Mundo Sans™, Biome™, and Beorcana™.
