Jakob Erbar

Jakob Erbar was a type designer and educator born in Düsseldorf in 1878, and died in Köln, 1935. He trained as a compositor in Düsseldorf and took courses in type with Fritz Helmut Ehmcke and Anna Simons. He taught at Städtische Berufsschule and Kölner Werkschule. His typefaces include Feder-Grotesk (1908), with the variants Lumina, Lux and Phosphor (1922–30), (1923), (1936).
