Marcelo Magalhaes

Tipos Pereira is a type foundry based in São Paulo guided by Marcelo Magalhães Pereira. As a manifest from this one man company I would say that I got love for popular typography such as those seen in the streets out there, vernacular stylish and full of history, that’s my inspiration whether they become Display or Text. I’m a Brazilian living in São Paulo, graduated as Graphic Designer, branding specialist and Type designer. As an educator I’ve been teaching Type Design and Libre Software since 2012 in my workshop Tipografia Libre.

Marcelo Magalhaes contributed to the production of Ashemore and is the designer of the OpenSource typeface, Coiny, from Google Fonts.
