Namrata Goyal

Namrata Goyal is a type designer based in Alwar, India. After a short stint as a graphic designer at Fitch, in Bombay, she joined Indian Typeface Foundry in 2014. She pursued her love of type with a condensed course in Typeface Design at TypeAtCooper in New York, and in 2017 completed a thesis project exploring newspaper types and multiscript typography at TypeMedia at the Royal Academy of Art in the Hague, Netherlands. Namrata has been working with Universal Thirst since 2016, primarily focusing on North Indian and Latin scripts. She publishes independent projects on FutureFonts, and when she’s not at her desk enjoys carving letters in stone and conducting type workshops.
