Osamu Torinoumi

Born in 1955, Osamu Torinoumi has been involved in more than 100 font development projects, including Jiyukobo’s Yu typeface library, the Hiragino series of SCREEN Graphic Communications Co., Ltd., and Koburina Gothic. His books include: Profession of Making Type, which won the Japan Essayists Club Award, and Making Books (co-authored). Mr. Torinoumi is a part-time lecturer in the Visual Communication Design Department at the Musashino Art University, and a professor at Kyoto Seika University.
