Typeface Ahnsangsoo is three-set, de-squared typeface designed by Ahn Sang-Soo in 1985.
It consists of 19 consonants, 21 vowels, 27 final consonants, which are assembled to derive
11,172 Hangeul letters. Each character is composed of geometric forms, such as horizontal, vertical, diagonal line and perfect circles. Long stems of vowel extended to meet the center of final consonants.
AG Ahnsangsoo 2012 is an upgraded version of typeface Ahnsangsoo, based on the researches of AG Typography Institute. Hangeul letters, Roman alphabets, and numerals are visually adjusted for enhanced legibility. This multi-set, de-squared typeface is the first font to apply ‘Hangeul group kerning’.
AG Typography Institute was established as an affiliated lab of Ahngraphics Ltd. in 2012. The lab continues to design and develop typefaces based on profound research, creating a new type culture.
