Sweet and distinctive, Chikki is a crunchy Gurmukhi and extended Latin type family that brings a fresh geometric approach to both scripts. Its most striking feature is the replacement of traditional curves with straight lines and softened corners, creating a uniquely angular yet approachable texture. Developed with input from native Punjabi readers and designers, this family has a signature crunchy texture while respecting the cultural and typographic nuances of Gurmukhi.
Like its Devanagari counterpart, Chikki Gurmukhi features six weights from Light to Black, offering excellent typographic control and hierarchy. The letterforms adapt the original Chikki flavor to Gurmukhi’s unique character set, resulting in a cohesive cross-script design that works harmoniously in multilingual contexts while maintaining its playful personality.
