Cisne is a display serif built on a tension: tightly packed vertical strokes against large, open, near-perfect circular forms. It began as an ode to Stunt Roman, Ross F. George’s Art Deco alphabet from the 1929 Speedball Lettering Manual, known for its expressive swashes and refined curves—an alphabet made, in George’s words: to show off.
Sproviero pushes that logic further, with deeper swashes, pronounced serifs, subtle ligatures, and a range of alternates. Like a swan, Cisne moves smoothly on the surface while holding a more complex structure underneath. Weight and x-height axes extend that range across sizes and weights, suited to editorial and branding work that demands presence and refinement.
Designed by Maximiliano Sproviero. Cisne is a font family from Sproviero Type—a member of The Type Founders collection. For additional license options like app, enterprise, multi-user, and self-hosted web, visit Sproviero Type.
