About
Description

DNP has developed and maintained the Shueitai type family since the company started (as Shueisha) more than a century ago.
DNP Shuei Mincho is the main typeface in the Shueitai family, which has a rich variety of typefaces. DNP Shuei Mincho has been used for many years to convey textual information in books and magazines. The arresting visual effect of glyph shapes drawn with a single stroke, typically seen in the charactersい and こ, gives the reader a sense of reliability. With heavier horizontal strokes than other Mincho style typefaces, DNP Shuei Mincho retains sufficient darkness with less eyestrain, free from undesirable high-contrast glare.
There are three weight variations: L, M and B, which can be combined and used for body text and headings, and the Shueitai’s design allows for a calm and relaxed impression with good design consistency.
