About
Description

IvyOra is a Dutch Old Face revival produced from historical specimens found at the Museum Plantin-Moretus in Antwerpen. Mostly from a folio sheet called Proef van Letteren from the widow of Dirck Voskens issued in 1695. The sheet contains types that can be attributed to Nicolaes Briot. The Italic specimen can be attributed to Christoffel van Dijck (known in his time as the greatest punch-cutter of Old Face types in Holland).

Ivy Foundry

The Ivy Foundry, founded in 2016 by Jan Maack, is a small independent type foundry based in Denmark. The foundry takes its name from the fleuron—a glyph used as a punctuation mark or as an ornament for typographic compositions. It’s one of the oldest typographic ornaments, present in early Greek and Roman inscriptions. The fleuron (or header in Latin) is a stylized form of the ivy leaf.
