JAF Bernini Sans is a type system with two sub-families: JAF Bernino Sans and JAF Bernina Sans. JAF Bernino Sans’s finely balanced weight distribution and open shapes make it a great text face, while the wide variety of weights and widths provide the designer with a powerful toolbox for headings and display typography. JAF Bernina Sans is a more informal version with alternate letterforms, such as round dots and a double-storey g.

Founded in 2004, Just Another Foundry is a German type design studio operated by Tim Ahrens and Shoko Mugikura – a type designer and a typographer, respectively.
Our work includes JAF Lapture and JAF Herb (ATypI letter.2 winner) – a new interpretation of German blackletter tradition – and the all-round sans serif superfamily JAF Bernini Sans (TDC2 2012 winner).
We also worked on several custom and customised type design projects for clients such as Crown Equipment Corporation, OECD and Seiko Watch Corporation.
