Kim Jeong-cheol Myeongjo & Gothic typefaces are Korean fonts optimized for architectural drawings. They were developed in commemoration of founder architect Kim Jeong-cheol, who introduced the CAD system to Korea for the first time. To compensate for the lack of Hangeul support in the old CAD system, he and his firm designed Hangeul graphics and used them in place of Korean text. Inheriting the spirit of architect Kim Jeong-cheol, Junglim Architecture hosted the ‘Typeface Design Competition for Architects.’ Based on the grand prize-winning work’s motif, we developed these nine digital typefaces with a type design company, Yoon Design Group.
Founded as an architectural design firm in 1967, Junglim Architecture has successfully carried out more than 1,000 large-scale projects in and out of the country. Our proposition of a spatial environment reflects history, corresponds to the present, and looks out to the future, transcending the needs of clients. Our mission is to go beyond the creation of buildings to contribute to society by creating a sound spatial environment together with clients. Thanks to the support of our clients, we’ve been here for over half a century, and now, we are dreaming of another half-century ahead. Therefore, trust with our clients is what we value more than anything else.
