Stefan Hattenbach is a well-known Swedish type designer with over 30 years of experience with type design, graphic design and advertising. He started out with advertising in 1980 and moved on to graphic design in 1994. He designed his first typeface in 1996 and is the founder of MAC Rhino Fonts. Stefan lives and works in Stockholm, but has also worked abroad in Budapest (1993–94) and San Francisco (2005–06). Since 2012, he works full time designing custom typefaces for domestic and international companies (by 2018 more than 50 typefaces including retail typefaces). In 2012–13, he designed the official typefaces for Sweden, together with the design agency Söderhavet. His retail typefaces have been spread around the World since the first design, New Global, was released in 1996. Stefan is totally passionate about letters (addicted collector of type specimens). He considers traveling a fundamental »hobby« and has a weak spot for Italy. 100% Romanista (AS ROMA supporter) and espresso lover.
