Pakenham takes inspiration from Paul Renner’s Steile Futura, but its gently turned corners and generous loops give the upright sans a more particular manner. The squarish curves suggest commercial lettering that has been drawn for a real sign rather than perfected into a neutral system. Use it for a shop name, neighborhood poster, food package, or informal wayfinding title. It can bring warmth to a practical message without resorting to brush lettering or visible distress.
Typodermic Fonts is the independent type foundry of Canadian designer Ray Larabie, based in Nagoya, Japan. Founded in 2001, the foundry explores a broad range of lettering: futuristic display faces, vintage-inspired designs, practical text families, and unconventional experiments with shape and texture.
The collection draws on everything from industrial markings and electronic equipment to painted signs, printed ephemera, and popular culture. Some typefaces bring a specific era or atmosphere to a headline; others give an identity, publication, or interface a distinctive everyday voice. Across that range, Typodermic focuses on letterforms with recognizable character and a clear purpose in a design.
