In the past, tools were considered one of the limitations that influenced the intentions of typefaces. However, nowadays, the problems of technological constraints that used to distort typefaces have almost disappeared as technology evolves and conditions change. This has led Monotype to redesign all the classic Thai typefaces, which have been developed for over half a century, to address the issues for contemporary usage.

Taking into account the overall surface of the paper when arranging the printed characters, the new typefaces have been developed with a straighter alignment. Another improvement is the head loop of the characters, which is designed to be rectangular with rounded corners, allowing for more space inside the character’s head. All of these improvements are a result of Monotype’s enhancements and developments, now reintroduced under the name Pracharath, which covers the characteristics of contemporary design, thinking, usage, and tools.
