Raavi is a typeface designed for typesetting in the Panjabi language and other languages that use the Gurmukhi script. The characters have conventional shapes and open forms, which make them especially readable onscreen, and they have very little contrast between thick and thin strokes. Raavi is appropriate to use for passages of body text onscreen, but it will not work so well if used in titles or headlines.
Raavi was designed for Microsoft by Raghunath Joshi. It includes capitals and lowercase letters for the Latin alphabet, adapted from the Microsoft Sans Serif typeface, but it is primarily intended for typesetting Panjabi. There are two weights, Regular and Bold, and no italic styles.
