Setar is a workhorse font family; 9 weights and 4 optical sizes that supports the character requirements in Arabic, Persian, Urdu, and more languages. Its styles range from restrained text to assertive display, and as the optical size increases, the skeletons of the characters widen, counters become more open, and dots increase in size. Based on design principles of simplified Naskh and the prioritisation of legibility in this style of Arabic calligraphy, Setar is comfortable for use both on screen and in print.
