Sets Grotesk started as a straightforward sans trying very hard to be cool. Then, we decided to embrace interpretation and joy; a robot doing jazz hands. So we added quirk, polish, and optical sizes, but not the usual kind. In Sets Grotesk, the larger the intended use, the taller the x‑height, the shorter the ascenders & descenders, the bigger the dots, and the wider the characters—all inspired by 60s & 70s fonts. The result: a multipurpose neo-grotesque fit for a variety of uses that comes in 9 weights and 4 optical sizes.
Dogray Type is a London based foundry created by Sahar Afshar and José Solé, whose respective Arabic and Latin script backgrounds are woven into the design direction of both the foundry and its fonts. The studio’s award-winning custom and retail work spans projects of all sizes, with a particular strength in multiscript typography.
