Skeena is a versatile typeface designed for easy reading onscreen and off. It is a “humanist” sans serif (that is, based on the shapes of traditional serif text typefaces). Its strokes are modulated, with a noticeable contrast between thick and thin strokes, especially in the bold and display styles, and it has a distinctive slice applied to the ends of many of the strokes. Skeena is ideal for body text in long documents and for shorter, informational text in presentations, brochures, tables, and reports.
Skeena Display complements it well for titles and headlines, with greater contrast and a livelier look.
Type designer John Hudson designed Skeena for Microsoft in 2019. The typeface has two weights, Regular and Bold, each with a true italic as its companion, as well as two weights of Display, again each with its complementary italic style.
