TypeBank UD Maru Gothic is a universal design rounded sans with a soft structure and a friendly expression. Designed in pursuit of on-screen readability, the kana bases its design on Digital Maru Gothic created for subtitles, improving legibility by making the loops of the characters such as む andす clearer and enlarging dakuten (゛) and handakuten (゜) voicing marks.
