Manic Type

Manic Type is an independent type foundry that focuses on providing tactile typography for textural fanatics.
Manic Type is a new independent type design studio based in Toronto, Canada. We offer type design, custom lettering, logo design, and other type related services. Founded in 2022 by Jamie Chang, a type designer from Toronto, Canada. He holds a MA in Type and Media from the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague; has previously worked for Canada Type and The Northern Block; and has worked on projects such as Gibson and Moret.

Manic Type was founded upon a deep love and fascination for letters and the spirits they can embody. We design high quality typefaces that explore the intersections of form, texture, and the expression of letters and identity. We believe that by understanding how we perceive our visual languages, we can shape our own.
