Original Type
Founded in 2018 by Artur Schmal, Original Type sets out to produce and publish original, contemporary typefaces that enable creatives and brands to express themselves authentically. Schmal caught the type bug at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague where completed a master’s degree in design from the Type and Media course. Original Type believes type is essential and produces typefaces with the utmost care, always meeting the latest industry standards. Next to publishing retail typefaces we create custom and bespoke typefaces on commission. Among Original Type’s clients are advertising agencies, publishing houses and design studios.
