Akira Kataoka 片岡朗

Akira Kataoka designed and released the following typefaces: Marumin Old with round elements (2000); Iroha gothic composed of 12 different kana styles (2005); Maru Minchotai including six additional kana styles; MaruMaru Gothic with different rounding effects applied to strokes shapes (2019), the brush-script typeface Yuji (co-designed), the customized font Donguri in 2012, the handwritten typeface Yamamoto An (co-designed) in 2013, the extra light typeface Shin in 2014, and Kinuta Minchotai in 2017. He also wrote the book “Mojihon” (“Book of Letters”) published by Seibundo Shinkosha in 2007.
