Kyoko Katsumoto 葛本京子
For nearly ten years, Kyoko Katsumoto worked as an art director at a major company, involved in various advertisement projects. In 1988, she co-founded Visual Design Laboratory. With her partner Shigeru Katsumoto, she has designed 145 typefaces designs.
Logo G was the first display typeface that Visual Design Laboratory released. Logo Jr Black became one of the prize-winning designs at ATypI Letter.2 and New York TDC, and the typeface has been used in a wide variety of animation and video works.
Besides working as a type designer, Kyoko Katsumoto is deeply involved in issues of Typeface protection.
