Chalan is a Minburi (민부리) Sans Serif typeface that exudes a bright and positive aesthetic. It draws attention, especially to the distinctive shape of the lower points of ‘ㅅ’ and ‘ㅈ’. In Style A, a rounded form is employed, while Style B adopts a straight-line configuration. Choose the appropriate design based on the context of your project.
Despite its Sans Serif style, Chalan features a noteworthy contrast between horizontal and vertical strokes, leading the Latin version to adopt a Slab Serif format. The Chalan project commences with an Extrabold thickness, making it ideal for book titles, poster headings, and video thumbnails when used in bold and larger sizes.
Minjoo Ham is an independent type designer and a half of Hypertype foundry. She completed the TypeMedia master course at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague, Netherlands, concentrating on Latin and Hangul double-script, since then she is producing multi-script font families for multi script font project.
