About
Description

Without closed counterforms, Chupilca is an exercise in rhythm and boldness, an expressive rough script-like typeface that works nice for logos or headlines looking for a carefree and daring look. The base font is Chupilca Fat, which comes with an extruded shadow layer called Chupilca Background. Both fonts includes many alternative and contextual characters, standard and discretionary ligatures, and you can place one text box on top of the other, both perfectly aligned, to play with the color of the Fat font and its Background.
Its name means a drink from the south of Argentina and Chile composed of red wine and toasted flour with a variation composed of gunpowder and schnapps, called ‘Chupilca del Diablo’, supposedly used to encourage soldiers during the armed conflict between Chile, Perú, and Bolivia called the Salitre War, which took place in 1789.
