Official revival of Zvi Narkiss’s Hebrew classic typeface “Narkisssim נרקיסים”, a soft and gentle text typeface made for continuous reading. This typeface was designed during the 1980s, for phototypesetting technology. In the new version the weight, spacing, proportions, and optical size were adjusted to be used in text sizes (8–12), and the family includes Regular and Bold styles.
Fontef is an independent type foundry based in Tel Aviv, established by Yanek Iontef in 1994. We are a small team — Yanek Iontef is a well-known Israeli type designer and Daniel Grumer, a graduate of the Type and Media program in The Hague (2016). We design typefaces in Hebrew, Latin and Arabic. We offer typographical solutions for graphic design studios, collaborate with international type foundries and take custom projects.
Since 2019, Fontef is the exclusive distributer of the classic Hebrew typefaces designed Zvi Narkiss [1921-2010]. We created new digital versions of all his typefaces, with matching Latin, and a special website where you can play with them here.
