Takakogen Kaku was designed to evoke the image of a highland, a place of magnificent natural beauty, birdsong, vibrant green foliage, and crisp, clean air. It shares the same design concept as the handwritten-style font Taka Kogen. While the original Taka Kogen retains an analog feel with slightly rough outlines, this typeface is a refined version featuring clean, smooth contours; it has also been expanded into a full font family. Note that the font name is written in kanji for the original handwritten style, whereas the refined version uses kana to distinguish it. A rounded version is also available as part of the family.
