About
Description

Tiffin is a versatile Latin and Devanagari typeface that can be used to set the scripts individually or together. It has a classic feel, thanks to its ties with modern old style cuts designed in Scotland and India in the late 19th century and early 20th century.

The Latin script takes inspiration from Miller & Richard’s Old Style, Antique No. 7 in Edinburgh, while the Devanagari draws on cuts designed by the Jawaji Dadaji Type Foundry and used by the Nirnayasagar Press in Bombay. These letterforms are reinterpreted through Tiffin to form a robust framework that keeps things strictly contemporary. Tiffin’s precise, careful design allows the two scripts to work seamlessly together while staying true to their construction.

There’s a thoughtfulness and sincerity to Tiffin but it comes with an underlying sense of playfulness, allowing it to flex across different themes, genres and formats. Use it to typeset a Nobel Prize-winning novel, or draft a manifesto for a utopian future.

Writing Systems: Latin, Devanagari
Supported Languages: Hindi, Marathi, Nepali, Marwari, English and many more.
