CoFo Sans Mono is the new member of our CoFo Sans Family. It comes in 4 weights—Regular to Black,—which all share the same width. CoFo Sans Mono retains many of the key characteristics of CoFo Sans, but they’ve all been adapted to fit the demands of a monospaced typeface. You will notice a significant difference in the proportions, sometimes even in the construction of certain letters. Special attention was given to the Cyrillic letterforms, which are a particular challenge in a monospaced width, due to the large amount of wide characters, but we are particularly proud of the balance we managed to achieve in Cyrillic, even in the heavier weights. CoFo Sans was designed with simplicity in mind and the monospaced version with its rationality, clean forms, industrial feel and a rich character set that includes Latin, Cyrillic, an extensive set of figures and carefully crafted fractions and symbols is no different. CoFo Sans Mono can be used on its own, but it’s also a great addition to CoFo Sans, which is slowly growing into a big family with a diverse set of possible uses. Combined with the full family, CoFo Sans Mono can become a powerful system for complex typesetting.

Contrast Foundry is a studio focused on designing letterforms in all their incarnations.
The studio was founded by Maria Doreuli in 2014, initiated by a collaboration with Liza Rasskazova. Yet the online collection of fonts only became available through contrastfoundry.com at the end of 2018. In the past years the full-time team grew from 2 to 7 people, as the studio was joined by Nikita, Anna, Egor, Anastasia, and Tasya. All team members have a background in design, yet they specialize in different fields from management to calligraphy and typeface engineering.
The team may be based in different locations, yet everyone is still working closely together. CoFo works across the ocean, overcoming borders, time, and any other obstacles in its path, creating a strong united team of motivated individuals. CoFo’s work is built on contrasts. It designs both eccentric display typefaces and neutral classics. The designers focus on retail fonts, with a passion for creating challenging custom typefaces and lettering for their clients.
CoFo runs an independent studio and offers its own educational programs for graphic and type designers via Type Design Workshop. Contrast Foundry was created out of love for letterforms and to share the excitement, passion and care about typeface design with the people around.
