About
Description

«June Expt» is a variable font concept designed between Fer Cozzi and Oscar Guerrero. What happens when you combine letters, love and wine? That’s how June started. Fer is represented by Curious, the right hemisphere, who tries to continually challenge itself by looking for new ways to express her ideas. She has a panoramic view, looks at the present and the future is impetuous, and takes risks. On the other hand, Oscar is represented by Active, the left hemisphere, a structured way that follows a precise method step by step. This side would focus on details, perception of patterns, strategies, and practical things. With two extremes –and everything in between– it creates a complex system of different flavor and textures.

June’s name is a tribute to June Almeida. She would become the first person to see a coronavirus using microscope techniques that she developed.

Type Designers

Fer Cozzi

Born in Argentina, Fer Cozzi attended the University of Buenos Aires, where she completed a degree in graphic design and a postgraduate specialization in type design, completing several courses in calligraphy, lettering and type design. Fer currently teaches in the Master of Typeface Design at the University of Buenos Aires.

Fer Cozzi’s type explores rhythms, shapes and strokes where randomness and a not-so-obvious rationality meet. Expert in nothing, with opinions on everything and successful in all kinds of failures. When she’s not drawing letters, she’ probably dancing to the rhythm of 90s pop.
