A friendly and comfortable looking typeface inspired by Century Schoolbook and Clarendon. Massive body very suitable for running text on print as well as on screen. Longer extenders give text a bit more air to breathe and improve legibility in small text sizes. Bolder weights have strong headline qualities. The familiarity of the letterforms conceals some nostalgia and makes it a good choice for food and lifestyle themes and for everything that was better in the good old times.
Floodfonts is an independent type foundry based in Cologne, Germany and was founded in the year 2000 by Felix Braden. In the early days he designed numerous free typefaces – e.g. Bigfish, Moby and Hydrophilia are available in the Adobe Creative Cloud. In 2013 he won the Communication Arts Typography Annual and Pulpo Rust (aka Kontiki) was nominated for the German Design Award 2019. According to the foundry’s name almost all fonts have a reference to water.
